Dead Lord: Heads Held High

Label: Century Media, playing time: 47:03 min, release date: 21.8.2015

The fact that Dead Lord is currently among the most aspiring bands of the Hard Rock scene cannot be undisputed. The Swedes around Hakim Krim confirm this reputation with their second album “Heads Held High”. Basically it does not matter where you put down the needle, or the laser – there’s no really weak song to be found anywhere. Unlike the previous album, which weakened slightly towards the end, you will be fully entertained with Heads Held High and with “Farewell”, “Mindless”, the big “No Regrets” or “Straind Fools”, just to mention a few. The Thin Lizzy factor here is of course still powerful, the Iron Maiden moments have become less compared with “Goodbye Repentance”, and the factor of their own musical identity has quadrupled. However, I must also admit that the CD required one or two runs until the first song ignited, but afterwards all the others set off immediately like a cascade of firecrackers, so to speak. Not resorting to any tricks, Dead Lord play simple, often catchy, sometimes playful, never too complicated Hardrock you will simply find irresistible.
