Jorn – Over the Horizon Radar

Label: Frontiers Records Release Date: 17.06.2022

In the past years it was quiet around the Norwegian Viking, he used the break to create a new album, which people had been waiting for a long time. The last records we got from Jorn was a cover album with “Heavy Rock Radio II” and the “Live on Death Road” live album. And the question when finally a new studio album will arrive, remained unanswered, until now – we got “Over the Horizon Radar“. The album, by the way, includes a longer version of the song “Faith Bloody Faith”, the same Lande performed 2021 at the Norwegian Pre-contest to the Eurovision Song Contest.

I have to admit I was already feeling scared that Lande might have used the time to reinvent himself and make totally different music now, like some other colleagues had to do. But no, the singer remained true to himself. And already “My Rock and Roll” gives me this goose flesh feeling with its powerful and emotional vocals done by Lande. Awesome.

On “Black Phoenix” you can also hear some more modern elements. And with “Ode to the Black Nightshade” there’s a goose flesh guarantee for all of you. “In the Dirt” is a beautiful declaration of love a rocking background sound.  Lande just has one of the best Rock voices of our times. And after the short break between the studio records, he gained more strength to break through and add another awesome record to his product catalogue.
