Inglorious – Heroine

Label: Frontiers  Records Release Date: 10.9.2021

The five Englishmen of Inglorious have already delivered a great album with “We will Ride” in February of this year. It was their fourth studio record. But it seems Covid inspired them, or they were just bored and so they decided to record a Tribute album. A tribute to all the wonderful women out there, covering songs originally sung by awesome women. As we already know, Nathan James has no problem at all to reach the high notes and so the new record becomes a real pleasure. Songs like “Fighter” of Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus “Midnight Sky” (sorry Miley but the Inglorious’ version is so much better), “Uninvited” by Alanis Morissette and many more can be found on the record. Great new interpretation, such as “Bring me to Life” which never really touched me, just this version brought tears running down my cheeks after only two lines. Or Cindy Laupers “Time after Time” – simply awesome. I am usually not a big fan of this cover stuff, but here I can say it is done very well by Inglorious, to put their own twist on those songs and still keep them as untouched as possible.
