God’s Army – Demoncracy
Label: Rock Of Angels Records Playing Time: 49 Min Release: 12th October 2018
Although all members of God’s Army have many years of experience in bands like Helloween, Firewind and Scanner, this band is everything but an allstar band. Nevertheless, you can hear the experience of Mark Cross (former Helloween), John Smith (former Scanner) and their sidekicks in every song. Demoncracy is the second album of the band and it has everything a good album needs. Catchy melodies, choruses, dynamics and variation. Songs like ‘Free Your Mind’, ‘Games Without Frontiers’ and ‘Before The Fall’ are great in every second. A great of mixture of classic Heavy Metal and Hardrock, anywhere between The Scorpions and W.A.S.P.
So an album that is great at every moment? Actually yes. But unfortunately this album is much too short as it contains only six songs and one cover track. In addition, there are three intros. A high amount for only seven tracks. I also have to say that the longest song of the album, ‘The Replicant’ featuring 13 minutes, has turned out way too long. It would have been easy to shorten the song without losing any essential parts. So all in all, “Demoncracy” loses a bit of its value.
