Khepra – Cosmology Divine
Label: Naturmacht / Rain Without End Records Release: 10.9.2016
Occasionally you stumble over a more or less unknown release from an even more unknown band, but this release really captures you – and this is the case here with Khepra from Turkey and their debut album Cosmology Divine.
I cannot even clearly define what their genre is – instead, associations with
Hollenthon’s Domus Mundi, the early Dimmu Borgir, Therion, Powerwolf or even the Czech Black Metal veterans Root and their legendary album “The Book” pop up. And I am only listening to the opener Atra Hasis yet – a track that surely will blow you away.
This kind of high quality music is maintained throughout the album – in between some calmer tracks, a dose of Folklore and traditional Turkish instruments add even more variety into the mix. The lyrics deal with science, myth and folklore. And all I can add is that if you like Melodic Death, Black / Symphonic Metal or one of those bands mentioned, you will surely enjoy Khepra.
And there’s more: supporting Metalheads in Turkey surely annoys Erdogan – so buy this CD!
