Label: Three Chords Music release: 18th December 2020
Misterer featuring a singing drummer have already been presented to you with their debut album and my live reports. Now the successor is available, which initially dives cheerfully once again into the waters of Old-School Thrash. However, the opener “The End” and “Human Pollution” remain rather the exception as straightforward Thrash classics. You can hear influences from Old School Death (Premonition) and Industrial Metal on “Joker” and “Totalitarian”. All those high octane speed attacks don’t just rumble on – there are rhythm changes, nasty solos, melodies and choirs (Mass Grave, We All Are The Same) as well as epic melodic Metal parts (Joker, A Sense of Purpose, Servants), where singer/drummer Mikko Herranen presents his vocal range. Which means that this album offers a lot of variety, and for me a total surprise is the final “Servants” with its grunge appeal. In other words, a great album where top musicians prove their versatility and class.
Also worth mentioning is the parade of guest musicians, including Marko Hietala (Nightwish) and Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum) – see details below.
Mikko Herranen – Lead Vocals, Drums
Juhani Flinck – Guitars, Backing Vocals
Timo Hänninen – Guitars, Backing Vocals
