Label: Rockshots Records release: 4. September 2020
The Metal trio Black Sun is quite known in their home country of Ecuador and South America, e.g. for supporting bands like Judas Priest, Kreator or Firewind. They recently parted with their long time lead singer. Therefore their new EP “Silent Enemy” features a string of guest singers, from Finland. Why Finland? Well, thanks Black Sun producer Nino Laurenne (Emma Winner – Finnish Grammy, Hevisaurus, Amorphis, The Rasmus), the band found ways to complete the EP with Finnish metal legends and talents: Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), Lordi, Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast), Pasi Rantanen (Thunderstone), Elias Viljanen (Sonata Arctica ), Netta Laurenne (Smackbound), Jukka Pelkonen (Omnium Gatherum), Asim Searah (Wintersun/Damnation Plan), Topias Kupiainen (Arion), Henning Basse (Firewind), Petri Lindroos (Ensiferum/Norther) and JF Aguirre (JF Aguirre Project). This turns “Silent Enemy” into a concept release, a kind of Metal musical. The style base line of traditional Metal is mixed with e.g. Power Metal and Symphonic Metal elements – all very catchy and appealing to instantly rock along. Just check the song „Still alive“ below… Three tracks are special music scores (intro, interlude, outro) and the EP also will be the basis for a special short-film, written by Black Sun and Topias Kupiainen.
The EP was recorded at Hi NoiZ Studios and Sonic Pump Studios, mixed by Jens Bogren (tracks 2 and 3) and Nino Laurenne (tracks 1,4-7) and mastered by Svante Forsbäck.
