Aenemica – Secret Lines

The German Band AENEMICA, founded in October, 2013 features band members who have already played in several bands before. Due to their various musical experience, they created a timeless sound with wide-ranging influence of musical styles, independent from any musical trend. AENEMICA themselves call their music “alternative progressive rock” or “melodic rock with progressive influences”.

Which describes it all pretty well and this Alternative Rock does not shy from Crossover to Metal – which has a Scandinavian touch but now and then also slips into AOR. All the songs impress with harmonies, ideas, variety and ear candy quality. As this is not quite my genre of expertise, I have no idea what to pick as comparison – those who appreciate Kent, The Rasmus or Poets Of The Fall should surely listen to this band. Maybe those guys just need a hit to enter the charts. Not sure if this hit is on this album, however, there are several candidates for it, e.g. my personal fave “Reverie”.
