Profanator – Fallen

FDA Records released 2020

Those Mexicans don’t take prisoners on their 4th album: Brutal, straight forward and full speed – „Fallen“ somehow reminds me of the early years of Bay Area Thrash. Because of this slightly overdone reverb, this release has the atmosphere of an underground demo. Not much of technical stuff, rather unhinged aggression, accompanied by English and Spanish lyrics. Sometimes I feel reminded of Venom (Night Fever) or Punk/HC (Pest) or of early Sepultura. In between there’s also some slower groove so that the album does not sound too one-dimensional (Corpse Harvest; Kalendisept). Sick soli are not to be missed, naturally (Voice of Disorder). The title track concludes the album and turns out to be the most complex and epic, perhaps a sign for the future development of the band. If you like honest straight forward Thrash and bands like Kreator, Bathory, Slayer, Dark Angel, Morbid Saint or Sadus, you should check out this band.
