Hootenanny Freaks – Freakshow

Label: Secret Entertainment    Released: March 26th 2019

It took decades to release a full-length debut album: After 2 EPs and the 20th anniversary single “Full Steam Ahead”, Hootenanny Freaks from Finland just released their first album “Freakshow”. The band has been focused on 70s and 80s Rock’n Roll – and we presented them as Fresh Act in 2017! The album is mainly a selection of material made by the new line-up and singer during 2016-2018. So there’s kick-ass Rock’n’Roll and Hardrock feeling right from the start with lotsa groove, catchy tunes and heavy riffs. There are influences of traditional Heavy Rock / Metal and also Rockabilly (Rebel Soul Remix). Luckily they also included older songs like “Breakaway” (power ballad) and “Two Down”, the latter with its Irish Folk feeling one of the highlights of the album. Another old song „Mean Man Killer“ was turned into a video clip using video material filmed by fans at several shows of the band (see below).

So if you want to do some musical time travel right into the 80s „Bon Jovi meets Mötley Crüe“ and/or kickstart a Rock / Metal party, that’s the CD for you.

Hootenanny Freaks are
Marko Kuurne (drums), Pepe Tamminen (vocals), Esko Kemell (guitar), Aapo Häyrinen (guitar and key boards) and Marko Leino (bass).
