Don’t Try This – Wireless Slave

Label: Finest Noise/Radar  Release: 06.11.2015

Wireless Slave is Don’t Try This’ debut album. The band, which play Modern Metal, mix a lot of new elements into their music. Often, you wonder how they came up with those samples. When They Rise, the album’s second track, is a good example of that. From what I can hear, singer Carlo Kasanya does both clean and growl vocals and he does them really well. At least on the album. I really have to compliment him for his performance on Falling Deeper: pure emotions with only clean vocals. This piece comes very unexpectedly but it is my absolute favourite. The German guys are able to put a lot of melody into their otherwise rather brutal sounds, making the entire thing very harmonic and also very captivating. Every now and then (especially with the first three songs), one would wish for a bit more diversity as the growls all sound pretty much the same. Still, considering this is a debut album, the guys did a superb job.
