Thor: Love and Thunder

Not wanting to give anything away about the plot, let’s leave it like this: the villain Gorr  threatens the earth and the entire universe, so once again Thor is coming in for help.

What can I say, after this – with 2h much too short!!! – film you will love Thor and Chris Hemsworth, literally – FULLY (humm) embodying him – even more than before. Love and Thunder indeed!!!

This film is at the same time funny and tragic, colorful and dark, action-packed and romantic, hilarious and raising essential questions, reviving the 1980s and on-the-spot recent, incredibly silly, bordering on self-parody, and profoundly philosophical, cheesy and all the while heartwarmingly wise – just like life itself. Hard rock and metal fans will also enjoy the soundtrack, with the electric guitars kicking in during the Marvel theme…. Plus, there’s probably the most awesome battle scene EVER, it gave me the chills …

Besides Hemsworth, Natalie Portman (Dr. Jane Foster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and Russell Crowe (Zeus) shine in their roles, which they obviously enjoyed playing. Christian Bale is captivating as the multi-faceted Gorr. Congratulations to director & Korg actor Taika Waititi for another stroke of genius, please let him have a go at more big projects. One of those films you just have to watch several times just to notice all the wacky details.

As in Spinal Tap, I would like to turn it up to 11…
