Elysium, formed in Orvieto, Italy, in early 2013 by bassist Marco Monetini, is a Folk Gothic Rock band with female vocal and violin drawing inspiration from early Within Temptation and Nightwish, as well as from the most popular European prog & folk rock acts like Anathema, Eluveitie & Pineapple Thief. Elysium owe their particular sound to violinist Christian Arlechino – who is adding a prog and folk feeling – and to singer Daphne Nisi with her powerful rock / pop / soul voice.  The band makes frequent incursions in classic rock, folk and prog.

Expressive voice and great song material between Hardrock, Metal and Prog with a dose of violin create an overall sound that does not fall to short to the big names they are influenced by, yet without copying them. Those 10 songs on the album offer variety, from real hard rocking songs to ballads – and everything is indeed ear candy. Maybe Elysium just needs a hit song for a major breakthrough – an „Nobody Knows“ on this album could be a candidate. If you are into the bands mentioned, you can just grab this one too.
