Imperial Domain – The Deluge

Label: Inverse Records  Playing Time: 39 Min  Release: 10th August 2018

Imperial Domain are a Swedish band, that has been active already since 1997. In the meanwhile, the guys were busy in other projects, but since 2014 they have been back with full force. In terms of music, Imperial Domain are a typical Swedish style Melodic Death Metal band. Comparing them with early In Flames and Dark Tranquility is inevitable.

When listening to The Deluge it becomes obvious that the guys know how to play their instruments. The songs are performed tightly, the  compositions show diversity and the production makes the songs powerful. It is really nice that the guys sometimes include brief quiet moments to take a breath. That keeps up the dynamic and prevents fatigue. In terms of catchiness their genre mates are still leading. Work on that, guys! The best impression of „The Deluge“ provide ‚The Future Is Lost‘, ‚Withdrawn From Life‘ or ‚Ever Since That Day‘.
