Panorama – Around the World

Label: Rock of Angels Records    Release: 12.01.2018

Neither the Swiss guitar player, Sammy Lasagni, nor the Uruguayan singer Christian Palin, who now lives in Finland, are strangers to me. In Switzerland, Lasagni is known through the band GoDiva and some of Palin‘s former and current bands are Adagio and Random Eyes. That the duo has been working together for years is well known but now their work has borne fruit. Together with Dennis Ward, who worked with Unisonic and Pink Cream 69, they created their debut “Around the World”.

And this collaboration was definitely worth it. They produced an album with eleven songs that make for a very good listen. Solid and nice Melodic Hard Rock songs that go down like butter. Palin always had to offer a lot but since I last heard him, he seems to have fine-tuned his vocals even more.

I have to admit, though, that apart from “The Highest Mountain” no other song really touches me deeply. But that doesn‘t mean the songs are bad, they just don‘t resonate with me very well after the first listen. But I‘m sure, the more often you listen to the album, the better it gets because only then can you hear the subtler nuances of the music.

Panorama could become new stars in the Hard Rock sky, if they manage to win the crowd over with skills and overall appeal. Their debut shines with a variety of songs and vocals and I‘m already looking forward to the band live on stage.
