The Razorblades – New Songs For The Weird People

Label: General Schallplatten; Release: 08/04/2016

Surf-punk from Germany harking back to the sixties. 17 tracks of (mostly) upbeat tunes for summer parties and festivals. The album opens with the line “…can you turn down your guitar?” “No, this is rock ‘n’ roll my friends…” which is always going to encourage listening. There are some great guitar licks and the sparse lyrics encourage singing along. The beat in the first song alone make you want to clap along, the bands’ groove is contagious!

Standout track: Cosmopolitan For Breakfast as it is a great showcase of what the band are capable of, riff heavy with some great breaks and musical sidesteps.
