She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
Disney+ series 2022– K-12 episodes: 35 Min.
A – literally – strong female lead – even when she’s not going green, a quirky protagonist with a loving but slightly weird family, average real-life people with real-life problems (eg. what women have to put up with on a daily basis) – it all feels so relatable, despite the fact that the heroine happens to have a superpower and famous-slash-super-slash-magic friends/acquaintances who pop up in almost every episode so far (eg Wong, Hulk, Megan Thee Stallion). Then there’s this tongue-in-cheek approach, breaking of the 4th wall, a creative translation of graphic art to the screen… So why are some people bashing She-Hulk for it now when they praised the Deadpool movies or the (great but rather kiddie-teenie-targeted) Ms. Marvel for exactly the same reasons? Some of those “critical voices” remarkably emerged even before the first episode actually aired… Maybe those “Marvel fans” are 99% immature masculine internet trolls and the very same “Star Wars fans” bashing little Leia in the Obi-Wan series for ridiculous reasons.
Had many LOL moments during every She-Hulk episode, simply love this “Matlock” / “Law&Order” / “The Office” crossover in the MCU and Tatiana Maslany in the title role … highly recommended.
