Jess and The Ancient Ones – Vertigo

We have often praised Jess and The Ancient Ones from Savo, Finland, since we had more or less accidentally stumbled into their Tuska performance back then. The new album Vertigo continues what began on the previous record, ‘The Horse & Other Weird Tales’, only taken further and deeper, It has all the elements that characterize those Finnish occult rockers: heavy guitars and vintage “Addams Family” organ sound, plus Jess’ unique hypnotic voice – psychedelic Rock channelling the 1960s. However, not at all old-fashioned or stale, but groovy ear candy and occasionally blending into heavy metal spheres. Simply this trademark Jess and The Ancient Ones’ style and thus absolutely recommendable.
