Jorn – Heavy Rock Radio II
Frontiers Records Release Date: 24.01.2020
Jorn Lande is back with his second cover album. “Heavy Rock Radio II” includes well-known classics which Jorn makes completely his own and without harming the original songs. He treats the originals with respect but still puts the Jorn stamp on them. So he does for example with Bryan Adams’ “Lonely Nights” or Dio’s “Mystery”. My personal highlight is “Needles and Pins” of The Searchers, which had been covered already by Cher and Smokie, but in Jorn’s version I like it the most. I am usually not a huge fan of cover records, but Jorn makes those into his own songs therefore you can always expect a good end result. The list of great records by Jorn Lande grows longer and longer even though you get to see the singer less and less live on stage. In the past years he just played a few single solo shows and was touring otherwise with Avantasia. Hopefully that will finally change after this album. It’s about time to see Mr. Lande live on stage again, presenting his full vocal range. Because he’s part of the elite of this era’s Rock singers.
