Weirdo tour 2025: The Rasmus, The Funeral Portrait, Block of Flats
This autumn, the Finnish rock legends The Rasmus released their 11th studio album ‘Weirdo’ and announced a big European tour to support their new output. The Weirdo tour embraced more than 10 countries, over 20 different cities and lasted almost 2 months. The American emo/post hardcore band The Funeral Portrait and Finnish alternative metal band Block of Flats joined the tour as a support acts.
This great combination of music genres made many sold out gigs during the tour and in general practically in every city they had a full venue. I had an opportunity to witness their amazing performance in Milan (Italy) at Alcatraz on November 18.
Block of Flats made a fantastic opening of the show. For this young and very talented Finnish band it was the first big European tour (as they told us in this interview). It’s been 2 years since I’ve seen them and I have to admit, these guys progressed tremendously. They are an incredible live band and have an ability to involve the audience from the very first song. Their exuberance of energy is simply amazing. It was their first time in Italy and the majority of people in the audience were seeing them for the first time. However, I’ve heard many people in crowd singing along with their songs.
The Funeral Portrait went all the way from USA to join Finnish musicians for this unforgettable tour. Their live performance was definitely something to remember. I have to mention their peculiar style, the fantastic green hair of the lead singer and total craziness on stage. They had so much charisma and energy, it was impossible to take your eyes off them.
And finally, the guest of honor – The Rasmus. Honestly, it feels like the time never affected this band. I’ve seen them many years ago as a kid and it seems like they barely aged at all. It has been over 20 years since The Rasmus was formed and they play their shows like they are in their 20, full of energy and fire. This is incredible how they made people cry, dance, scream, and jump. The set list was a perfect blend of the new songs and well known monsters like “No fear”, “In the shadows”, “First day of my life” etc.
The Rasmus is a great example of hard work and dedication. Not many popular Finnish rock bands formed in the 90s/ early 2000s have survived till these days. But The Rasmus kept delivering new albums, going on tours and making their fans around the world happy.
Let’s hope these 3 fantastic bands – The Rasmus, The Funeral Portrait and Block of Flats – will continue rocking and bring more live shows like this one in the upcoming year. And if they stop by in your city, don’t lose any time, grab tickets and go to see them.
