Thunderbolts*

SPOILER-FREE
Nope, Marvel can still deliver amazing movies: The adventure starring a chaotic anti-hero-team turned out to be so much better than expected, bulls-eye all the way, I cannot think of anything to complain about. More than 2h of best entertainment and still going in deep, literally – this might be one of the best visual translations of depression. And another link to daily news reality – it is indeed dangerous giving too much power to super-rich psychopaths …
The plot shall be mostly ignored here, because – YES – it is basically just the vehicle to gather this team of unlikely heroes and heroines, the focus are the human beings and their every-day-struggles with the darkness which lurks in everyone of us. And this makes it so relatable and exiting for everybody watching it on the big screen, much more exciting than extensive CGI orgies where the acting of an ensemble is pushed to the sideline (see eg. Ant-Man 3 )
In this movie the ensemble doesn’t miss the chance to shine, to explore the depth of their characters: Florence Pugh (Yelena) left me unimpressed in Black Widow – unlike here, she is powerful and heartbreaking, just like Lewis Pullman as Bob. However, the real star here for me is David Harbour alias Red Guardian, a force of nature and surely a future fandom legend – and this suit looks much better on him than Hellboy. Charisma-oozing Sebastian Stan and Wyatt Russell don’t need to be mentioned, only Ghost and especially Taskmaster could have had more screentime.
Summary: Worth to be watched on the big screen, this chaotic team is fun to watch, and you want to watch more of them… and of course, stay until the very very end!
PS: There is something still bothering me – what happened to the guinea pig? Anybody? If you have an answer, please leave a review comment on our SoMe channels.
