Dead End Finland – Victory

Label: Inverse Records    Release Date: March 31st 2023

Wow, I remember Dead End Finland as Melodic Death act, and then this Electro-Industrial style opening – but no, it’s back to tough Melo-Death business, a great mixture of Finnish and Swedish genre styles. Which means, a punch-in-the-face riff attack with brutal growls, combined with a melodic and catchy chorus, the occasional clean vocal vignette and a certain Metal-dance-floor quality with some Industrial Metal groove – all in all highly addictive material. Plus, a powerhouse production that adds a bombastic  Symphonic-Black-Metal dimension to the mix. Could be the next big thing from Finland, well deserved for a band which has been active since  2007 in the same Line-Up. This album – their 5th – could open the way to EU headliner status for those hard working musicians, just like for e.g. Bloodred Hourglass, who had clawed their way up to the top during the years. Fingers crossed that it works out for DEF with this one.  The previous album “Inter Vivos” reached number 10 on Finland’s official album charts.
