Air Guitar World Championships 2017: Airistotle defends his title
The finals of the 22nd Air Guitar World Championships were held on 25th August 2017 in Oulu, Finland, in freezingly cold weather. Despite the poor weather conditions, the performances from the 15 finalists were steaming. The reigning champion, Matt “Airistotle” Burns (USA) defended his title successfully with the score of 35,4, only the fourth time in the contest´s 22 years of history.
The runner ups, Patrick “Ehrwolf” Culek from Germany and Alexander “The Jinja Assassin” Roberts from Australia were tied for the second place with the score of 34,6. Third place went to Japanese 15-year-old Show-Show, who competed for the first time outside Japanese soil.
15 air guitarists from around the world competed in this year’s world finals. Here the results:

Besides the honour of the title “best Air Guitarist in the World”, Matt could once again take one of these custom-made Flying Finn guitars back home.
