Morbius

Sony Pictures, K-12, 1 h 44 Min, VÖ: March 31, 2022

The line between hero and villain will be broken by a genius doctor …

Morbius is a mixture of genres, Mad Scientist meets Vampire: a brilliant biochemist Michael Morbius is dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder. Determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble and experiments with bats. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease. He turns into a vampiristic being and is forced into another shadow existence.

Despite a weak response by critics and some predictable plot lines in between, I can still recommend Morbius as a movie worth to be watched. And if it’s only concerning the female Marvel fans who can enjoy such an attractive title hero played by Jared Leto.

By the way, despite low expectations, Morbius didn’t turn into a flop but made half of the production costs within the movies’ opening weekend…
