Herman Frank – Fight The Fear

Label: AFM Records  Playing Time: 65 Min  Release: 08th February 2019

Herman Frank releases his second solo album after he quit Accept. While listening to the first couple of songs, it becomes obvious that Herman and his sidekicks take on the same line as they did before: riff based, traditional Heavy Metal with rough, but also melodic vocals.

It is no surprise that everything is working well in terms of skill and craft. The compositions are a bit more mature than on the first album. But there is still something missing, which is melodic guitar work. It would make the songs much catchier and give some more unique features to the band. So this is definitely a point the band has to work on in the future. Therefore most of the songs appeal to you quickly but they are also quickly forgotten. Only ‘Hatred’ and ‘Stay Down’, which both positioned in the second half of the album, have some ear candy potential. Which is a pity because all the songs have the potential to become great. But for now this album overall is just above the average.
