Diggeth – Gringos Galacticos

Label: Pt78 Records    release: Feb 2019

The third album of this Dutch trio takes you on a heavy groove trip right from the start – and you cannot help but put a happy smile on your face. A great mix of Stoner Rock, Metal and Psychedelic – or Metal‘n-Roll, as the band calls their style. You simply cannot sit still, you have to rock or even sing along, because there’s a lot of instant-sing-along moments. But it’s not only a standard straight-forward-Rock thing, those guys prove their virtuosity, be it on an acoustic instrument (Banjo!) or with some amplification support. Just listen to the soli on Three Gringos. There’s a lot of feeling for the calmer moments, too (In the Wake of Giants). The singer can sound clean like Bruce Dickinson and then as rough as Chuck Billy. Maybe the list of bands they have shared stages with explains a lot: Michael Schenker, Exodus, Megadeth, Slayer, Karma To Burn, Soulfly, Sacred Reich, Motörhead’s Phill Campbell And His Bastard Sons. And now imagine a mixture of all those bands and you get an idea what Diggeth sound like…

By the way, the overall topic of this album is space travel – well, whatever that means, remember those guys are from The Netherlands… in any case a lot of fun, go and buy it!
