Vinide – Reveal

Label: Inverse Records  Playing Time: 64 Min  Release: January 26, 2018

Vinide are a Finnish Power Metal band that uses a variety of symphonic elements. The band has been around since 2003 and they have already released two albums and two EPs. Therefore “Reveal” is there 3rd full-length strike.

Reveal” is a classic concept album dealing with a dystopic future vision in which the protagonist fights a mighty cyber company. In terms of music, “Reveal” is as versatile as a concept album should be. Most of the songs are arranged and orchestrated quite opulently. But there are some minor interludes containing spoken word parts that bring some variation and offer a break. Moreover, it is nice that the band does not only work with thick keyboard layers. Instead, they use a versatile and accented orchestration that never sounds over the top. The production itself is quite powerful but also transparent.

When talking about the songs, I have to say that most of them are average. But there are also ‘Breakout’, ‘Emanuel’ and ‘The Plan’ that are some sort of highlights on this album. So all in all, “Reveal” has turned out a well-done album.
