Drïzella – Fresh Act February 2018

Rock is Dead – maybe not; Drïzella show that there is Hardrock offspring alive and kicking even in small Switzerland.

Hello! Here are Chris, Ref, Neo and Andi and we are Drïzella.

How many gigs have you played so far?

If we go back to the original founding date and line-up of the band, probably around 200.

Since when have you been active as a band and what is the founding history of Drïzella?

The band was founded around 8 years ago from a School band, but with a different name. We ( the original band members) went to the same school back then, and this is how we have got to know each other. Drïzella with its actual Line-up has been active since about two years.

Why did you choose the name Drïzella for your band, could it be that you are fans of Cinderella?

Yeah one could say so. 😀 We all grew up with the influences of our parents and the Rock music of the 70’s and 80’s. The idea for the name came during a band rehearsal when we were jamming the Cinderella Song “Shake me”.

Which kind of music do you play and what does make you different from other bands in this genre?

Our influences clearly are the Hardrock bands from the 70’s and 80’s. But as each member brings his own unique style into the band, different influences gather. This is also what probably makes us different from other Hardrock bands, as we don’t set ourselves any boundaries when it comes to the music style, we just write what comes naturally.

Which bands clearly influenced you and your music?

Cinderella (hahaha), Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey etc..

How does songwriting work in the band? Do you write the songs together or just one of you?

Most of the time I (Chris) bring a guitar riff with lyrics and a melody. The rest of it is jamming during band rehearsals.

You already supported bands like Gotthard and Inglorious in Switzerland, which are the Highlights of your band history so far?

For sure the two you named. And probably to add the support gig for Korkus and the two times with Shakra.

Which bands you would like to support in near future?

Bon Jovi at Stade de Suisse!!! 😀

How do you feel in Switzerland as a Hardrock band, do you think that you have a lot of opportunities as a band or less than those you might would have in another country?

I think compared to other European countries like Germany, England and Scandinavia we have rather a hard time in Switzerland as a Hardrock band. Still I think that there is plenty of interest and audience.

How do you use Social Media to call people’s attention? Do you think that Facebook & Co. nowadays are a curse or a blessing for a band?

I think both.As everyone has access to it, everyone has also the possibility to present his “product”. Of course artists suffer because of the whole download and Online-Streaming business. The media we often use are Instagram and Facebook. They help us enormously to promote our gigs and releases.

What is the most important thing for you as a band? And what do you want to reach together?

The most important thing for us is to have fun doing it. This is also the main reason why we started to make music together. Of course we try to get as far as possible as a band, to play as many gigs as possible and to excite as many people as possible.

Which plans do you have for 2018 as a band?

At the moment we are working at the songwriting for a new record. When it will be released we unfortunately can’t say at the moment. Until then we are regularly doing concerts.

Thank you for your time. We wish you all the best for the future!

We thank you!!
