Danko Jones – Wild Cat

Label: eOne / AFM Records / Bad Taste Records release: March 3rd 2017

Anybody who doesn’t know Danko Jones yet should quickly correct this big mistake. Admittedly, It took me a bit longer than other STALKER staff (20062008 ), but finally a Finnish festival introduced me to this hot mix of sexy charm, kick-ass beats and dirty Rock’n’Roll. And got me hooked …

Following this band through more than a decade, it became clear that a bad show or a bad album is virtually impossible. Hey, this Canadian power trio toured with Rock deities like Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N Roses and Motörhead in the past … Therefore the only question regarding their album outputs is, whether they manage to give you the same HELL-YEAH-wanna-dance-and-sing-along feeling they deliver performing live within the first few chords. When you can only hear but not see this delicious hyperactive front man…

Regarding Wild Cats, the new release to celebrate the band’s 20 year anniversary, the answer is YES. About 40 minutes of pure pleasure. And yeah, I mean ”pleasure” incl. innuendo …

It would be a bit unfair to underline a particular track, however, I just have to mention this instant ear candy Diamond Lady …

People who want to cut down on their caffeine intake can use this album instead – to wake them up in the morning and put a huge smile on their faces s well (which coffee usually can’t do) …
