Soulimage: The Whole Universe

Release: 20.05.2016 Label: Bob Media

Soulimage formed, in the last years, around singer and composer Robert Eberl. With “The Whole Universe”, the band hailing from Regensburg, Germany, releases its first album. Listeners will find catchy and danceable synth rock songs on it, with music and vocals in perfect harmony. As so often, the songs are about love: fulfilled, lost, hopeless, feelings of being alone. But then again, isn’t music always about love? The electro parts of the songs could have been a bit more distinctive, with more power and maybe a bit more creativity. The vocals are done well but I think that Robert Eberl has more to offer than he shows. Among the thirteen songs are a few gems but somehow I don’t get this wow-feeling that I would’ve liked to experience again. Still, it is a good start for Soulimage and I am already looking forward to the next album.
