Khroma – Stasis

Label: Inverse Records    Release date: 01.04.2016     37:43 min

Finnish electronic alternative metal band Khroma has always been one of those you cannot remember any bad show at all – you will have an intense experience for ear and eye (and in case you join the mosh-pit also for the body), that’s for sure. (Well, you can actually find out for yourself in a few days, as the band will be touring in Europe all April, tour dates below.)

In CD (or download) form, the intense experience remains an acoustic one, nevertheless it will be striking. According to the band, their second (self-produced/engineered/mixed) album Stasis ”manifests the full synthesis of machine and man, live instrumentations entwined over its electronic core” and is a commentary ”on the state of our ever-widening digital environment.” What you can expect is ”energy boost without caffeine. The soundtrack to ADHD.

Even though Stasis provides somewhat slower tracks – the anthem-like ”Wrong” and a danceable-grooving ”Machinal” – there’s no slowing down of massive impact. Spooky electronic sounds, evil eerie guitars, bone-smashing riffs and rhythms and intense vocal performances will send shivers down your spine. Check out the band and buy the CD at their merchandise table – touring is expensive and they will be grateful for some support …
