Drawing Circles – Sinister Shores

Label: EAT THE BEAT MUSIC; Release: 11/03/2016

German trio Drawing Circles released their first full length effort earlier this month. Some beautiful acoustic melodies and vocal harmonies are what this group is all about. The lack of a drummer seems to add to the haunting nature of the music, allowing the music to twist and turn through an emotional journey. Some of the vocals are sublime, especially the almost-growling in Blur. Eerie minimalist guitars bring thoughts of ambient film soundtracks and as a package this really is stunning in places.

If acoustic is your thing, these guys pull it off well, maybe a little too mellow at times, but great for a Sunday morning or a relaxing day in the sun.

Standout track – Rebuild is a relationship song which most people can relate to. It has some beautifully simple electric guitar which, added to the haunting vocals make this tune one to keep on repeat.
