Drown My Day – The Ghost Tales

Label: NOIZGATE Records, release 16.11.2018

Drown My Day, founded 2006 in Krakow, have been part of the Polish scene for quite a while. The quintet has released an album and 2 EPs until now and has played many shows on their home turf and beyond.  The Ghost Tales is the second longplayer of DROWN MY DAY  – and wow, what a heavy punch into your ear lobes right from the start! This precise riffing remings you of early Pantera, and this band unleashes an angry mix of contemporary Death Metal, Metalcore and technical Hardcore. Plus, you will also get some Doom in mid-tempo and a good portion of groove. Another unique feature is the deep growling of fronter Maciej ‘Groov’ Korczak.

You’ll get quite a diverse product here that has some catchy qualities despite the overall aggression. The lyrics, by the way, are inspired by Japanese horror fiction. Well, I’m not such a -core fan but I got the impression that this record will appeal to everyone who enjoys Slipknot, Pantera & Co. Just watch the clip below and you’ll see for yourselves …
