Iron Savior – Riding On Fire (Re-Forged)

Label: AFM Records  Playing Time: 93 Min  Release: 08.12.2017

Iron Savior, which have been active since 1996, had in their early phase released five albums on Noise Records. The label was bought by the major BMG and therefore it is nearly impossible to get all the original albums today. If you want to know more about Noise Records, here you can find a link to a very good book about this Berlin based label.  Some of the former Noise releases are being re-published, yet that’s not the case with records of Iron Savior.

So the band did it their own way and created “Riding On Fire”. It is a 19 songs compilation – you could also call it a best-of release – based on the first five albums. And because Piet Sielck and his buddies do not own the rights of the originals, they decided to re-record all the songs.

If you do not own these old albums yet and if you want to take a closer look into the early history of the band, this one is for you! It is really value for money! In case you own the originals already, it is not a must have for you. Although the powerful production is quite good, it is (for my taste) a bit too clean. Moreover, I think that some of the catchy choruses are not being caught well on tape. Therefore in my opinion it does not reach the quality of the original hymns. So better listen to it first!
