Sir Collapse: (15.14 mg) Audiofil Citrate

Release: 03.06.2016 Label: FinestNoise
The guys from Neuss/Germany have only been playing together since 2013 and with “(15.14 mg) Audiofil Citrate” now release their first EP. Unsusal name for a record, you think? Yes, and that’s exactly how the album cover looks like, like packaging for pills. For some, this might be good medicine, others might perhaps get really sick – but that’s how it is with music. It’s hard to classify the four mid-twenties’ music – the band also prefer that people make up their own minds of what they are doing. Perhaps one could describe it as a mix of alternative, prog with other influences or simpler put: they just play whatever they like. It’s also very difficult to judge a band after having listened to only five song that are on the EP. But I can easily say that what I hear makes me curious for more. But I’m also afraid that I could get disappointed. There are some really good riffs here that are catchy and here and there remind me of Red Hot Chilli Peppers; the vocals too fit perfectly and I’m definitely not bored. Therefore, it might be worthwhile to keep the name Sir Collapse in mind and see what they come up with next. Will they be able to maintain that high level or can they kick it up a notch? We will see but until now this is a very good start.
